Meet Joshua Adams, MD
Founder, President & Medical Director
Dr. Joshua Adams is the Founder, President and Medical Director of Blue Ridge Vascular & Endovascular Institute. He is a board certified Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon and fellowship-trained Vascular Interventional Radiologist. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Biology from PennWest Clarion, he went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Additionally, he completed ten years of residency and fellowship training at the University of Virginia Health System through combined vascular surgery and vascular/interventional radiology pathways.
Dr. Adams has performed more than 650 fenestrated endovascular aortic repairs and has treated thousands of patients with complex carotid, aortoiliac, and peripheral vascular disease using advanced endovascular and hybrid techniques. He founded the MUSC Health Complex Endovascular Aortic Program and served as Surgical Director of the MUSC Health Aortic Center, completing more than 150 branched and fenestrated aortic repairs—the highest volume by any physician in South Carolina at the time.

Dr. Adams served the Roanoke community for more than 8 years at Carilion Clinic, where he served as the Founder and Director for the Carilion Clinic Aortic Center and the Section Chief of Aortic & Endovascular Surgery. He was named a Roanoker Magazine Top Docs 2025 as the Top Vascular Surgeon in the region and listed in Newsweek Rankings America’s Leading Doctors for both 2024 and 2025 in Vascular Surgery..
When it comes to Blue Ridge Vascular, Dr. Adams’ vision is to create a regional center of excellence focused on advanced endovascular and hybrid interventions, minimally invasive outpatient-based care, integrated imaging and an exceptional patient experience to bring world-class vascular care closer to home.
Outside of the office, Dr. Adams enjoys spending time outdoors. He also loves spending time with his wife and three kids.
